- NewIcons is actually much faster is there are no free entries in the
- palette (I suspect this is due to the underlying pen sharing
- system).I have 256 colour thumbnail icons for some of the graphics on
- my harddisk, and they load and display very quickly on my 32 colour
- WB, where all the pens are already allocated, and incredibly slowly on
- a 256 colour Workbench where they have to fight it out for pens. If
- someone could think of a decent palette, and then lock it, I get the
- feeling that NewIcons would work much better at higher colour depths.
-
- BTW, has anyone tried NewIcons on a 24 bit CyberGraphX screen? Does it
- work?
